Spectators: 6794 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1794, VIP seats: 0) Lucas Grieve started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicky McAulay got free with Kieran McCaul in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Lucas Grieve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 10 minutes into the game, Ron Lewis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Denny's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kirriemuir the free kick. Ron Lewis kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Kirriemuir's Kyle Adair tried to score from far away in the 11th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After having played for 13 minutes, Nicky McAulay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kirriemuir's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicky McAulay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Graham McGillegowie fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kirriemuir's protests and gave Graham McGillegowie a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Kirriemuir's Graham McGillegowie got a free kick in the 14th minute. Gordon McDuff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ron Lewis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the game, Martin Stalker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Darius Allan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 24 minutes into the match, Denny's Gordon McDuff sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Darius Allan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Gordon McDuff managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denny's supporters rose to their feet, but Gordon McDuff was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Darius Allan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucas Grieve in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kieran McCaul saved Denny from getting behind. If Lucas Grieve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, Ron Lewis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 39 played minutes Kirriemuir got a freekick which was hit by Bruce McCrimmor. Aiden Munn charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aiden Munn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 43rd minute, Aiden Munn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kyle Adair was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 44th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Nicky McAulay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Kirriemuir players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Denny were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Martin Stalker made the kick off in the second half. Lucas Grieve blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kieran McCaul having to make a save. If Lucas Grieve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Kirriemuir's Darius Allan got control of the ball when Gordon McDuff tried to sneak it across the goal line. Denny's Kieran McCaul played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicky McAulay in the 74th minute of play. Martin Stalker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darius Allan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Stalker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kirriemuir's Lucas Grieve got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicky McAulay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kieran McCaul having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Denny had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
