With an extended leg and a bit of luck Darius Allan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Glasgow United FC booed when Kirriemuir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregor Cookson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Harry Lawrie sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Kirriemuir's Darius Allan didn't even have to move. If Nicky McAulay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucas Grieve's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ryan McInally read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lucas Grieve made a kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Kirriemuir's Lucas Grieve sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ryan McInally narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ryan McInally was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lucas Grieve showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 72 minute of play. In the 76th match minute, Glasgow United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shane McGorrie to maneuver through the defense. Patrick McVanish sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kirriemuir's Nicky McAulay got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Shane McGorrie fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Glasgow United FC's protests and gave Shane McGorrie a yellow card for diving instead. Shane McGorrie kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 90th minute of the match Kyle Adair shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ryan McInally showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With an all-out effort, Kirriemuir's Ryan McInally threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lucas Grieve, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, Glasgow United FC's Ryan McInally got control of the ball when Nicky McAulay tried to sneak it across the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 97 minutes, Ryan McInally successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Glasgow United FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Kirriemuir were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
