After a rather tough play, Corrour's Willie Griesck got a free kick in the 11th minute. Frankie McNeilly, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jake King made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronnie Elliott in the 17th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Corrour's zone, Logan McIlreach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jake King came out of the goal and Logan McIlreach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 19 minutes into the game, Logan McIlreach was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gretna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Corrour the free kick. Ronnie Elliott fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake King having to interfere. After 34 played minutes Corrour got a freekick which was hit by Liam Munro. Lee McIvor struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Logan Barbour didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corrour. After 38 played minutes Gretna got a freekick which was hit by Tommy Collins. Logan McIlreach struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute, Ronnie Elliott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

If Munro Clark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Munro Clark received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Logan Barbour tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gretna's Frankie McNeilly shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 63rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jake King but with some difficulty. The audience was convinced that Logan McIlreach's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jake King was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Ronnie Elliott fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake King having to interfere. A collision led to Corrour getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Wayne McAulay hit a great ball. Gretna played a much better game than Corrour and deserved their victory. The Corrour players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
