Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) Barry McSwan started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Logan McIlreach in the 4th minute of play forced Celtic Green Path's goalkeeper Richard McDaniell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Logan Barbour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barry McSwan in the 7th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Kevin Miller managed to get in a good position for a shot. Celtic Green Path's supporters rose to their feet, but Kevin Miller was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Logan Barbour breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Logan McIlreach might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Richard McDaniell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Logan McIlreach ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Ronnie Elliott sped through Celtic Green Path's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Richard McDaniell. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Logan McIlreach in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richard McDaniell saved Celtic Green Path from getting behind. Gretna's Ronnie Elliott got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 43 minutes, Logan McIlreach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gretna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Logan McIlreach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Celtic Green Path's zone, Ronnie Elliott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richard McDaniell came out of the goal and Ronnie Elliott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 48th minute, Logan McIlreach got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Logan McIlreach was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute Ronnie Elliott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard McDaniell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ronnie Elliott came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Gretna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronnie Elliott couldn't finish the play. In the 60th minute Logan McIlreach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard McDaniell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute Barry McSwan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Logan Barbour saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barry McSwan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the game, Gretna's Logan McIlreach nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Richard McDaniell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Kevin Miller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Logan Barbour having to interfere. If Ronnie Elliott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 85 in the game by Kevin Miller from a close distance when the talented Logan Barbour managed to make a qualified save. Gretna's players were relieved. In the 87th minute, Celtic Green Path's Barry McSwan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Logan Barbour. Logan Barbour yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Barry McSwan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Logan Barbour having to interfere. Gretna were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Celtic Green Path for a fine match.
