Marc McLachlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob McOwl, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Gus McQuistan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Marc McLachlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Marc McLachlan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Kevin McQuisten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Bob McOwl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Kilbirnie getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Bob McOwl hit a great ball. In the 44th minute Douglas Ronald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Drew Tonnochy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Kilbirnie's Kevin McQuisten got a free kick in the 44th minute. Drew Tonnochy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Douglas Ronald's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Drew Tonnochy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douglas Ronald in the 48th minute of play.

The wind increased when Douglas Ronald made the kick off in the second half. In the 72nd minute Douglas Ronald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Drew Tonnochy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kilbirnie's Drew Tonnochy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Kilbirnie from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Douglas Ronald took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Drew Tonnochy to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Kilbirnie's Drew Tonnochy got control of the ball when Alistair Fairley tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Leven players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Kilbirnie from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
