Tarbert FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ray McCaskill ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Strathdon United's Ray McCaskill to fire away a dangerous shot which Theo McSween despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Alan Gemmil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Theo McSween made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angus Gilroy in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angus Gilroy in the 32nd minute of play forced Tarbert FC's goalkeeper Theo McSween to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alan Gemmil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 53 minutes, Jonathan McGillegowie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tarbert FC and the Strathdon United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tarbert FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 53rd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Strathdon United a penalty, 55 minutes into the game. Theo McSween didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Strathdon United. Angus Gilroy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo McSween having to interfere. Despite being the better team, Strathdon United failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
