Spectators: 6804 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1804, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ivan Gilfillan kicked off to start the match. When Declan Gilmour fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tayport's protests and gave Declan Gilmour a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tarbert FC booed when Tayport was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Declan Gilmour didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute Hamish Bryce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theo McSween saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tayport were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after Tarbert FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ray Hawson took the corner. In the 16th minute, Robert McMinn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elliot Cooke was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 23rd minute Josh McGugan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theo McSween saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Tarbert FC's Elliot Cooke threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ivan Gilfillan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Josh McGugan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Theo McSween tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hamish Bryce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo McSween having to interfere. If Robert McMinn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tarbert FC's Greg Dowe got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 43 played minutes, Tarbert FC's Nigel Lonie shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Elliot Cooke came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tarbert FC reached it. When Ivan Gilfillan came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Tarbert FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Gilfillan couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Tayport defense, Greg Dowe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elliot Cooke. The Tayport fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elliot Cooke should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Josh McGugan to make the kick off. Greg Dowe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elliot Cooke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Tayport's Declan Gilmour got a free kick in the 60th minute. Greg Dowe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Elliot Cooke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Hamish Bryce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tayport's supporters rose to their feet, but Hamish Bryce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Theo McSween breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Greg Dowe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Greg Dowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elliot Cooke having to interfere. Theo McSween was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Josh McGugan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Josh McGugan really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Ivan Gilfillan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tayport's Elliot Cooke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Greg Dowe in the 92nd minute of play. Ivan Gilfillan hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
