A collision led to Huntington United getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Douglas McHendry hit a great ball. When Grant McSymon came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Huntington United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grant McSymon couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Mauchline booed when Huntington United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gareth Georgeson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricky McIlrevie's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michael McGorrie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Daniel Gilchrist charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Gilchrist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mauchline's Daniel Beadle couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 31st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Huntington United. After a rather tough play, Huntington United's Gareth Georgeson got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Michael McGorrie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricky McIlrevie's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Huntington United's Grant McSymon got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ricky McIlrevie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Michael McGorrie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grant McSymon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Ricky McIlrevie made the kick off in the second half. After recieving a nice pass, Mauchline's Daniel Beadle tried to score from far away in the 52nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 54 minutes into the match, Huntington United's goalkeeper Michael McGorrie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charles Clark. Christopher Morgan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ray McQuartie, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Charlie Duthie kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After 64 played minutes Huntington United got a freekick which was hit by Gareth Georgeson. Ricky McIlrevie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Michael McGorrie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michael McGorrie didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Mauchline's Ricky McIlrevie shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-3 in the ordered_time% minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mauchline's zone, Ray McQuartie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christopher Morgan came out of the goal and Ray McQuartie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricky McIlrevie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael McGorrie having to interfere. Charles Clark fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael McGorrie having to interfere. After having played for 83 minutes, Charles Clark managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mauchline's supporters crossed their fingers, but Charles Clark was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th match minute, Huntington United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Gilchrist to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute Ricky McIlrevie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael McGorrie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricky McIlrevie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael McGorrie having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Charles Clark lined in a short shot 1-4 behind a frustrated Michael McGorrie. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mauchline had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
