Seating: 1795, VIP seats: 0) Tony McSorley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Troy McCrain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Menstrie's Tony McSorley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Troy McCrain in the 10th minute of play. Frank Forsyth could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Marcus McMunn made a huge save. Tony McSorley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Finlay McCloy in the 20th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Yarmouth AFC's Finlay McCloy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tony McSorley made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Blair McKinley was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 29th minute. Menstrie's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 38th minute of the match David Forster sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tony McSorley skillfully saved the ball. If Troy McCrain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Finlay McCloy came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Yarmouth AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Finlay McCloy couldn't finish the play. In the 48th minute, Blair McKinley fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Blair McKinley to make the kick off. After 55 minutes Yarmouth AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Drew McMinn who took care of the corner kick. Harry McAldonich hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Finlay McCloy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Tony McSorley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Finlay McCloy took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tony McSorley. Tony McSorley dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When Norman Clerk came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Yarmouth AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norman Clerk couldn't finish the play. Blair McKinley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Frank Forsyth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcus McMunn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Blair McKinley's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Troy McCrain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harry McAldonich hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Finlay McCloy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tony McSorley having to make a save. Tony McSorley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Troy McCrain in the 93rd minute of the match. Yarmouth AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
