The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Charles Clark kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 5thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Harris's keeper Dominic McKinnell was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. After a rather tough play, Mauchline's Craig Coutts got a free kick in the 9th minute. With a little luck, Harris's Dominic McKinnell got control of the ball when Charles Clark tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dominic McKinnell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricky McIlrevie, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Craig Coutts kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Nicholas Guthrie took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Christopher Morgan. Mauchline's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 21st match minute, Harris was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stuart McKelloch to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 22 minutes, Stuart McKelloch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Harris's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stuart McKelloch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Charles Clark came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Mauchline fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charles Clark couldn't finish the play. Harris's Dominic McKinnell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Harris from getting a goal against them. Charles Clark scored 1-0 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dominic McKinnell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mauchline's Charles Clark got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dominic McKinnell stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricky McIlrevie's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. After a rather tough play, Harris's Kevin King got a free kick in the 44th minute. Ricky McIlrevie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Harris getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Ben McCorrie hit a great ball. Dominic McKinnell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricky McIlrevie in the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ben McCorrie in the 52nd minute of play forced Mauchline's goalkeeper Christopher Morgan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stuart McKelloch got his second yellow card in the match during the 54th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 55th minute, Stuart McKelloch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Charles Clark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 61st minute, Ricky McIlrevie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 64th minute Ben McCorrie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christopher Morgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ben McCorrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Christopher Morgan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Lloyd Ayson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kevin King succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 83rd playminute. After 86 played minutes, Mauchline's Derek Addy shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dominic McKinnell came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mauchline reached it. Mauchline's Ricky McIlrevie got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
