Malcolm Gunn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dean Borthwick's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Alloa's goal looked a bit too open when Dean Borthwick came free, but Malcolm Gunn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Billy McRaith charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Billy McRaith the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Billy McRaith hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Robert McAindra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wally Fyfe's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. 35 minutes into the match, Dunkeld's goal looked a bit too open when Darius McIlleriach came free, but Robert McAindra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Dunkeld's zone, Darius McIlleriach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robert McAindra came out of the goal and Darius McIlleriach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Robert McAindra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darius McIlleriach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dean Borthwick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Malcolm Gunn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Alloa's goal looked a bit too open when Dean Borthwick came free, but Malcolm Gunn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 73rd minute Billy McRaith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Gunn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert McAindra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wally Fyfe, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. If Wally Fyfe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alloa's Malcolm Gunn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luke McFarquhar in the 85th minute of play. Dean Borthwick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 90 minutes of play Dunkeld's Billy McRaith was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Alloa booed when Dunkeld was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy McRaith didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 92 played minutes, Alloa's Paddy McThomas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Robert McAindra came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Alloa reached it. After having played for 93 minutes, Wally Fyfe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alloa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wally Fyfe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Darius McIlleriach came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Alloa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darius McIlleriach couldn't finish the play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
