Greg Drysdale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Phil Hawes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Greg Drysdale came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Wishaw fans jumped to their feet. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Douglas McGrath in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phil Hawes saved Aberdeen Dandies F.C. from getting behind. In the 28th minute Greg Drysdale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phil Hawes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas McGrath in the 30th minute of play forced Aberdeen Dandies F.C.'s goalkeeper Phil Hawes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phil Hawes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Douglas McGrath's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Wishaw's Greg Drysdale got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Greg Drysdale got free with Phil Hawes in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Douglas McGrath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
