Dunbeath FC's Mike Gunn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Malcolm McAldonich in the 5th minute of play. Liam McDonleavy charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Liam McDonleavy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Liam McDonleavy hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Malcolm McAldonich recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 12th minute, Malcolm McAldonich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jordan Gowan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danny Lees, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute, Ken McVicar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jordan Gowan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Malcolm McAldonich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the match, Dunbeath FC's goal looked a bit too open when Malcolm McAldonich came free, but Mike Gunn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jordan Gowan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danny Lees, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Alloway's Quentin Ronald tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ken McVicar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dunbeath FC's Ken McVicar got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Alloway players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Dunbeath FC were winning 0-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ken McVicar in the 53rd minute of play forced Alloway's goalkeeper Jordan Gowan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dunbeath FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nigel Crum in the 55th minute. The corner led Dunbeath FC's Nigel Crum to fire away a dangerous shot which Jordan Gowan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 57th minute, Sid Hamilton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Malcolm McAldonich's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mike Gunn was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Malcolm McAldonich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alex Alexander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike Gunn having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Norman McKinney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th match minute, Dunbeath FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric McMurdo to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 76 minutes, Malcolm McAldonich managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alloway's supporters crossed their fingers, but Malcolm McAldonich was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alex Alexander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ian Tawesson hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Alex Alexander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Mike Gunn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alex Alexander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mike Gunn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Alexander in the 87th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Norman McKinney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Malcolm McAldonich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Mike Gunn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Malcolm McAldonich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Although Alloway had been in control for most of the match, Dunbeath FC still came away with the win.
