After 8 minutes, Joshua Dunn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Livingston United and the Deportivo Español players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Livingston United's Joshua Dunn got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 14th match minute, Livingston United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Munro Wylie to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Joshua Dunn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Livingston United's supporters rose to their feet, but Joshua Dunn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jack Findlay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 23rd minute, Angus Airlie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Livingston United's goalkeeper Robbie McQuartie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tony McQuaire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robbie McQuartie having to interfere. A collision led to Deportivo Español getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Gus Eaton hit a great ball. Sid McCartney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Jack Findlay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Livingston United booed when Deportivo Español was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmond Shaw didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angus Airlie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Robbie McQuartie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Angus Airlie ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robbie McQuartie was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tony McQuaire was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Livingston United's zone, Tony McQuaire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robbie McQuartie came out of the goal and Tony McQuaire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sid McCartney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Jack Findlay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Livingston United's goal looked a bit too open when Tony McQuaire came free, but Robbie McQuartie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jack Findlay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sid McCartney in the 63rd minute of the match. Robbie McQuartie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gus Eaton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute, Gus Eaton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 77 played minutes Livingston United got a freekick which was hit by Joseph McCasland. Robbie McQuartie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angus Airlie in the 81st minute of the match. Jack Findlay made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Joshua Dunn sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Sid McCartney kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jack Findlay. That made the score 1-1 in the 88 minute of play. Robbie McQuartie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony McQuaire, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After 92 minutes, Charles Train mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Livingston United and the Deportivo Español players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 94 minutes, Angus Airlie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Español's supporters crossed their fingers, but Angus Airlie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
