Charles McCluskie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th minute, Kenny Fulton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Kenny Fulton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Humbie City's supporters rose to their feet, but Kenny Fulton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charles McCluskie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kyle McIver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles McCluskie having to interfere. Paddy CorMcK took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicky McLamond. Nicky McLamond dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. UK United's Alan Cluny got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Kyle McIver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kyle McIver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles McCluskie having to interfere. Humbie City's Nicky McLamond played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paddy CorMcK in the 75th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, UK United's Paddy CorMcK sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicky McLamond narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kenny Fulton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Kieran Dove fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UK United's protests and gave Kieran Dove a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th match minute, UK United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kieran Dove to maneuver through the defense. Charles McCluskie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny Fulton in the 96th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. UK United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
