Ian Boyes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nigel McOwl in the 34th minute of play. Dunbeath's Ian Boyes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Dunbeath from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Thurso United's zone, Nathan Barnfather stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aiden McGruther came out of the goal and Nathan Barnfather tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nathan Barnfather in the 43rd minute of play forced Thurso United's goalkeeper Aiden McGruther to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The wind increased when Nigel McOwl made the kick off in the second half. Ian Boyes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nigel McOwl's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Edmond McEachern fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aiden McGruther having to interfere. Edmond McEachern sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute, Dunbeath's Nathan Barnfather dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2.
