Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) Anthony Norman started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd minute Anthony Norman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Declan McKellar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Johnstone's Declan McKellar got control of the ball when Phillip Murchison tried to sneak it across the goal line. Phillip Murchison took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Declan McKellar. Declan McKellar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Johnstone's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Anthony Norman 10 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. A hard shot 14 in the game by Phillip Murchison from a close distance when the talented Declan McKellar managed to make a qualified save. Johnstone's players were relieved. Phil Coulthart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute Kenneth McIlzegowie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Tonnochy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Dunblane's goal looked a bit too open when Phil Coulthart came free, but Kevin Tonnochy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Declan McKellar made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Phillip Murchison sent off a good shot on target. If Phillip Murchison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Phil Coulthart stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Phillip Murchison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Declan McKellar having to interfere. Declan McKellar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthony Norman in the 57th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Dunblane's zone, Phil Coulthart stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kevin Tonnochy came out of the goal and Phil Coulthart tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kenneth McIlzegowie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Tonnochy having to interfere. Freddie McKinnon kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 67th minute of the match Terry McMichael shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Declan McKellar showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 73rd match minute, Johnstone was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phil Coulthart to maneuver through the defense. Anthony Norman hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Kenneth McIlzegowie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Kevin Tonnochy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Grant Hutcheson took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Kevin Tonnochy to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grant Hutcheson in the 94th minute of play forced Dunblane's goalkeeper Kevin Tonnochy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnstone's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
