In the 3rd match minute, Coldstream was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matt Bowers to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Quentin Hay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nathan Stalker was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Matt Bowers kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Drew McFie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Nathan Stalker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Drew McFie hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Alan McBheath could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Mark McKimmie made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Jake Haws managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coldstream's supporters rose to their feet, but Jake Haws was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mark McKimmie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Craig Duncanson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark McKimmie having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Hugh Lair was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stromness's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coldstream the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Stromness fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 19 minutes, Coldstream's Nigel McBean got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Mark McKimmie. Mark McKimmie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Craig Duncanson in the 25th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Drew McFie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stromness's supporters rose to their feet, but Drew McFie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nathan Stalker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Archie Ellis fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stromness's protests and gave Archie Ellis a yellow card for diving instead. Archie Ellis kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Stromness's Quentin Hay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nathan Stalker narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nathan Stalker stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Drew McFie's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 44th minute, Quentin Hay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Quentin Hay stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Stromness's zone, Jake Haws stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mark McKimmie came out of the goal and Jake Haws tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stromness's Mark McKimmie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan McBheath in the 54th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Nathan Stalker successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan McBheath in the 68th minute of play forced Stromness's goalkeeper Mark McKimmie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Archie Ellis got his second yellow card in the match during the 70th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Coldstream booed when Stromness was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Archie Ellis didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alan McBheath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Drew McFie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 77 minutes, Alan McBheath managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coldstream's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alan McBheath was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alan McBheath struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Mark McKimmie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coldstream. In the 80th minute Alan McBheath shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark McKimmie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan McBheath in the 86th minute of play forced Stromness's goalkeeper Mark McKimmie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gavin Clement during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gavin Clement kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alan McBheath in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mark McKimmie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Coldstream's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
