An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryan Buchan in the 19th minute of play forced Stromness's goalkeeper Mark McKimmie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ryan Buchan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark McKimmie having to interfere. Drew McFie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Gus Beadle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Drew McFie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Luigi & Mario Bros FC booed when Stromness was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quentin Hay didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Stromness's goal looked a bit too open when Ryan Buchan came free, but Mark McKimmie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Quentin Hay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stromness's supporters rose to their feet, but Quentin Hay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gus Beadle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Quentin Hay to strike the kick off in the second half. Irvin Bowie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute Quentin Hay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gus Beadle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Archie Ellis took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gus Beadle. Gus Beadle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Ryan Buchan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Mark McKimmie skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 70th minute, Frank Dobbie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Luigi & Mario Bros FC booed when Stromness was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugh Lair didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aidan McKinven kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Ryan Buchan hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute, Archie Ellis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Luigi & Mario Bros FC's Irvin Bowie got a free kick in the 85th minute. If Drew McFie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Drew McFie in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gus Beadle saved Luigi & Mario Bros FC from getting behind. Irvin Bowie's late challenge caught a Stromness's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Irvin Bowie helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Stromness booed when Luigi & Mario Bros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Irvin Bowie didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute Quentin Hay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gus Beadle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Luigi & Mario Bros FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Stromness.
