Spectators: 5407 (Terracing: 4300, Seating: 1100, VIP seats: 7) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ken McCrindle kicked off to start the match. After 3 played minutes Arbroath got a freekick which was hit by Patrick McIver. When Lochearnhead's Greig Barton in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Arbroath's goalie prevented a goal. In the 6th minute Lochearnhead were awarded a corner. Keith Lockerbie went to the cornerflag to take it. Lochearnhead's Timothy McKerlich was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Neil McCansh in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 8 minutes into the game, Timothy McKerlich was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lochearnhead's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arbroath the free kick. If Ken McCrindle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Will Adkins was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 14th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nigel Ronald got free with Darius Colman in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Neil McCansh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Greig Barton in the 20th minute of play. Arbroath's Nigel Ronald got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paul Coulson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 32nd minute, John McKissock fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 34 minutes into the match, Ken McCrindle notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Arbroath's Neil McCansh. Neil McCansh was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 43 minutes into the match, Arbroath's goal looked a bit too open when Greig Barton came free, but Neil McCansh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darius Colman made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Nigel Ronald sent off a good shot on target.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John McKissock to make the kick off. Ken McCrindle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Neil McCansh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sam Enrick charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sam Enrick the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ken McCrindle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Neil McCansh having to interfere. The supporters of Lochearnhead booed when Arbroath was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taylor Rorison didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ken McCrindle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Nigel Ronald got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Neil McCansh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ken McCrindle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arbroath's Neil McCansh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ken McCrindle in the 88th minute of play. If Ken McCrindle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st play minute Greg Duffy came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Neil McCansh. 0-4. Nigel Ronald's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Darius Colman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. John McKissock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Arbroath fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Lochearnhead were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
