Arbroath's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Drummore the free kick. The supporters of Drummore booed when Arbroath was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rupert Lawrie didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th match minute Grant McCarter ran free in the middle of the field and shot a long shot which scored behind a totally surprised Kyle McAdam. 1-0. Freddie McGilroy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rupert Lawrie, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Ross Conochie kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Rupert Lawrie notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Drummore's Freddie McGilroy. Freddie McGilroy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kyle McAdam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Clement in the 28th minute of play. Benjamin McCammond's late challenge caught a Drummore's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamin McCammond helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Drummore booed when Arbroath was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin McCammond didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donald Dow in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kyle McAdam, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience was convinced that Eric Clement's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kyle McAdam was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eric Clement to make the kick off. Eric Clement struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute Eric Clement shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kyle McAdam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kyle McAdam didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eric Clement went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Rupert Lawrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Freddie McGilroy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 66 played minutes Drummore got a freekick which was hit by Ross Conochie. Kyle McAdam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donald Dow, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rupert Lawrie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kyle McAdam didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Drummore's Donald Dow shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 4-1 in the ordered_time% minute. When Billy McDonald fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arbroath's protests and gave Billy McDonald a yellow card for diving instead. After recieving a nice pass, Drummore's Grant McCarter tried to score from far away in the 84th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A hard shot 87 in the game by Lloyd Lambie from a close distance when the talented Freddie McGilroy managed to make a qualified save. Drummore's players were relieved. Eric Clement took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kyle McAdam. Kyle McAdam dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. When Donald Dow came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Drummore fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donald Dow couldn't finish the play.
