Seating: 1814, VIP seats: 0) John McKissock made the kick off and thus started the match. Neil McCansh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fergus Bontein, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jack Lair got free with Neil McCansh in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 9 minutes into the game, one of Dingwall FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 15th minute, Nigel Ronald made a precise shot to the right of David Higginson. Dingwall FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Arbroath's Neil McCansh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Arbroath from getting a goal against them. After having played for 24 minutes, Nigel Ronald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arbroath's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nigel Ronald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nigel Ronald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. David Higginson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the game, Nigel Ronald cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. David Higginson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sam Enrick took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for David Higginson. Dingwall FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Dingwall FC's Jack Lair got a free kick in the 36th minute. Jack Lair struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Neil McCansh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dingwall FC. John McKissock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Higginson having to interfere. If Jack Lair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Dingwall FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Arbroath were winning 0-3.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jack Lair made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, John McKissock managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arbroath's supporters rose to their feet, but John McKissock was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Higginson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jack Lair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dingwall FC's Brandon McUlric in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Arbroath's goalie prevented a goal. Neil McCansh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brandon McUlric, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jack Lair came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Dingwall FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jack Lair couldn't finish the play. Jack Lair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
