Graham McCaul breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Club Atlético Strachur's Daniel Appleton got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Partick Thistle F.C.'s Ronald McGruder got a free kick in the 12th minute. If Daniel Appleton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anthony Ennis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Appleton struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Graham McCaul didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Strachur. 26 minutes into the match, Partick Thistle F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Appleton came free, but Graham McCaul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mark Connall charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mark Connall the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 31 minutes, Ronald Bryde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Partick Thistle F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronald Bryde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anthony Ennis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Thomas Griesck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the game, Partick Thistle F.C.'s Ronald Bryde nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thomas Griesck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 40th minute, Anthony Ennis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Partick Thistle F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 45th minute, Daniel Appleton reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Graham McCaul. The goal made the score 1-2. The Club Atlético Strachur players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Partick Thistle F.C. were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Appleton was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético Strachur's zone, Anthony Ennis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Griesck came out of the goal and Anthony Ennis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Club Atlético Strachur's Thomas Griesck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anthony Ennis in the 57th minute of play. Graham McCaul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lewis Armitage, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Ronald Bryde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alisdair McGuffie kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the game, Club Atlético Strachur's Daniel Appleton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Graham McCaul made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. If Anthony Ennis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. A collision led to Partick Thistle F.C. getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Rick Frizell hit a great ball. Lewis Armitage scored 3-3 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Graham McCaul, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Club Atlético Strachur succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Partick Thistle F.C. had controlled the match.
