Graeme McTear showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Pitullich, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 36 minutes of play, Rangers FC's Tony Pitullich made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Graeme McTear was left in no man's land by his defense there! Graeme McTear stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tony Pitullich's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Graeme McTear made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Pitullich in the 42nd minute of play. Tony Pitullich struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Graeme McTear didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rangers FC. In the 46th minute, Samuel Murdoch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tony Pitullich to make the kick off. The referee ignored Rangers FC's protests and gave Rory Ingram a yellow card for diving instead. Lee Lambie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Tony Pitullich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Graeme McTear saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute of the match, Tony Pitullich tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Graeme McTear saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
