Spectators: 8007 (Terracing: 6007, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ter Robson started the match with the kick off. After 4 played minutes, Dumbarton's Eric Connelly shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fergus Beaton came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dumbarton reached it. Brunswick Rovers's Fergus Beaton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duncan McRach in the 12th minute of play. After 13 played minutes Brunswick Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Alistair Duthie. In the 16th minute, Duncan McRach got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 20th minute of the match, Anthony Davis got a very nice opportunity to score, but Charles Giles was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 29th minute Jay McCombe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Giles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fergus Beaton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duncan McRach in the 31st minute of play. If Anthony Davis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute of the match, Jay McCombe tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Charles Giles saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jay McCombe to make the kick off. Ter Robson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Fergus Beaton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dumbarton's Charles Giles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jay McCombe in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of Dumbarton booed when Brunswick Rovers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Logan Buchanan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jay McCombe might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charles Giles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jay McCombe ran back to his position shaking his head. Anthony Davis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute Jay McCombe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Giles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Duncan McRach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ter Robson in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fergus Beaton saved Brunswick Rovers from getting behind. Tyler McAdie charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tyler McAdie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The crowd rose to their feet as Dumbarton's Ter Robson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fergus Beaton. That made the score 0-1 after 89 minutes of play. Eric Connelly kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
