Shane Cowan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthew McMurdo in the 10th minute of the match. The supporters of Millport City booed when Tighnabruaich was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phillip Burns didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edward Fyfe, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Shane Cowan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 29th minute, Phillip Burns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Millport City's Edward Fyfe couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 29th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tighnabruaich. When Tyler Milroy fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tighnabruaich's protests and gave Tyler Milroy a yellow card for diving instead. If Tyler Milroy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan McQuisten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aidan Norman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kenneth McInroy struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Shane Cowan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Millport City.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matthew McMurdo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Tighnabruaich got a freekick which was hit by Gareth Ayres. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Lucas Cruickshanks managed to get in a good position for a shot. Millport City's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Cruickshanks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shane Cowan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Millport City's Kenneth McInroy got a free kick in the 60th minute. Walter McCammond spun around in front of the goal 61 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Millport City's goal. After a defensive mix-up in Millport City's zone, Aidan Norman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan McQuisten came out of the goal and Aidan Norman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Walter McCammond had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Currie during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee showed Stevie Docherty the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Tighnabruaich players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
