Phil McRobert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shaun Foulis in the 8th minute of play. When Westhill's Shaun Foulis in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Shaun Foulis was the one to do the kick off. When Graeme McRaith came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Westhill fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Graeme McRaith couldn't finish the play. Shaun Fouliss short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Phil McRobert to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Inverness Caledonian FC's Phil McRobert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Graeme McRaith in the 63rd minute of play. The supporters of Inverness Caledonian FC booed when Westhill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rob McGillivour didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Freddie McRobie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shaun Foulis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Phil McRobert made a huge save. 95 minutes into the game, Graeme McRaith recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Phil McRobert. Graeme McRaith showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. When the match was over Westhill could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Inverness Caledonian FC throughout the match.
