Norman Hutchison kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Annihilators's Theo Abbott got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Thomas McFarlane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nigel McKinney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Ronnie Ferries tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Theo Abbott's late challenge caught a Bishopton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Theo Abbott helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Annihilators getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Theo Abbott hit a great ball. Thomas McFarlane struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Adam Symon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Annihilators. After 37 minutes, Alisdair McMath mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Annihilators and the Bishopton players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Annihilators getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Alisdair McMath hit a great ball. Annihilators's Ronnie Ferries proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Annihilators from getting a goal against them. Ronnie Ferries made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Nigel McKinney sent off a good shot on target. After 46 played minutes Bishopton got a freekick which was hit by Raymond Gunn. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nigel McKinney to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Troy Fulton sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adam Symon skillfully saved the ball. Adam Symon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Crawley in the 58th minute of play. After having played for 60 minutes, Jonathan Crawley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Annihilators's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan Crawley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 72nd match minute, Annihilators was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Crawley to maneuver through the defense. Ron McMurchy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Ferries having to interfere. 82 minutes into the match, Bishopton's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Crawley came free, but Adam Symon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Annihilators's Alisdair McMath got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nigel McKinney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Ronnie Ferries tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Annihilators booed when Bishopton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nigel McKinney didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Raymond Gunn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bishopton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Annihilators the free kick. In the 91st minute, one of Bishopton:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bishopton. Ronnie Ferries took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nigel McKinney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
