In the 9th minute Ter Tawse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick McAdam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Henry McHutcheon dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jacob Fox, 2-0. 14 minutes into the match, Huntly's Ter Tawse sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patrick McAdam narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jacob Fox took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry McHutcheon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alan McEol's late challenge caught a Johnstone SFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan McEol helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Johnstone SFC booed when Huntly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan McEol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ter McQuisten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Jacob Fox tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacob Fox made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ter McQuisten in the 31st minute. Ter McQuisten who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Jacob Fox when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Chris McOnie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ter McQuisten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Jacob Fox tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Henry McHutcheon in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacob Fox prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Henry McHutcheon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Jacob Fox tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alex Moodie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 62ndth minute of the game Henry McHutcheon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Huntly's Jacob Fox was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Sam Christie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huntly's supporters rose to their feet, but Sam Christie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrick McAdam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sam Christie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ter McQuisten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Fox having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Ter McQuisten put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jacob Fox. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ter Tawse during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
