Steve Gilbertson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Greg McVean showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Steve Gilbertson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruce Ayson, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Greg McVean got free with Steve Gilbertson in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 40th minute of the match, Bruce Ayson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Steve Gilbertson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 42nd minute, Adam Harperson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oliver Limont kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After having played for 45 minutes, Greg McVean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wolves FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Greg McVean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, glasgow rangers's Steve Gilbertson got control of the ball when Greg McVean tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 48th minute, Wolves FC's Bruce Ayson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

In the 68th minute, Bruce Ayson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Steve Gilbertson was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Steve Gilbertson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bruce Ayson went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Wolves FC booed when glasgow rangers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rob Coulthart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ewan McElfrish, 80 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 82 minutes into the game, Wolves FC's Bruce Ayson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Steve Gilbertson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. 88 minutes into the match, glasgow rangers's goal looked a bit too open when Bruce Ayson came free, but Steve Gilbertson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Steve Gilbertson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Forsyth in the 89th minute of play. Adam Harperson's late challenge caught a Wolves FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adam Harperson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 91st minute, Adam Harperson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
