Milltimber Park
Spectators: 8056 (Terracing: 6043,
Seating: 1853, VIP seats: 160) Milltimber's Greig McLaws started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Willie Armour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Greig McLaws sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 7 minutes, Calum McLachlan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KingsHall and the Milltimber players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th minute, Calum McLachlan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Greig McLaws sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronald Eadie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Willie McNeil having to make a save. After 21 minutes, Adrian Morren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KingsHall and the Milltimber players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st minute, Adrian Morren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute, Willie Armour got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ronald Eadie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Milltimber booed when KingsHall was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Scott Haws didn't get a good kick on the ball. Greig McLaws recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Willie McNeil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronald Eadie in the 46th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Milltimber's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Eadie came free, but Willie McNeil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Willie Armour stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Milltimber's goalkeeper Willie McNeil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ronald Eadie. Malcolm McEoin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Terry Carter in the 58th minute of play. Greig McLaws received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Malcolm McEoin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Terry Carter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Milltimber's supporters rose to their feet, but Terry Carter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Malcolm McEoin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Greig McLaws in the 64th minute of play forced KingsHall's goalkeeper Malcolm McEoin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th match minute, KingsHall was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Morren to maneuver through the defense. When Scott Haws fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KingsHall's protests and gave Scott Haws a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st minute, one of KingsHall:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KingsHall. In the 74th minute there was a penalty for Milltimber. Gavin Fairbairn stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Malcolm McEoin. 1-0. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Milltimber's goalkeeper Willie McNeil, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of KingsHall booed when Milltimber was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andy McKenzie didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terry Carter in the 81st minute of play forced KingsHall's goalkeeper Malcolm McEoin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Willie McNeil made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Ronald Eadie sent off a good shot on target. 86 minutes into the match, Milltimber's goal looked a bit too open when Willie Armour came free, but Willie McNeil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Willie McNeil made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Ronald Eadie sent off a good shot on target. Willie McNeil came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by KingsHall's Ronald Eadie. But to his dismay, Ronald Eadie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Milltimber's Willie McNeil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willie Armour in the 98th minute of play. Milltimber's Willie McNeil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 99th minute of the match, managed to save Milltimber from getting a goal against them.
