With a left leg Vincent Findlater saved Kirknewton from getting behind. Bradley McFergus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Vincent Findlater tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Neil Gray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, Kirknewton's goal looked a bit too open when Bradley McFergus came free, but Vincent Findlater reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. James McAulay might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vincent Findlater. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. James McAulay ran back to his position shaking his head. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dundee United Football fully deserved thier win.
