Sunk Black Pearl's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AV4 United the free kick. Callum Barton kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 4th minute of the match Darius McDaniell shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but David Barnes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 6 minutes into the game, AV4 United's Douglas McPhater nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Barnes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Douglas McPhater had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Walter Hunter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sunk Black Pearl's supporters rose to their feet, but Walter Hunter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Drew Gowrie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of AV4 United booed when Sunk Black Pearl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gordon Grant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Walter Hunter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 24 minutes of play, AV4 United's Rick Allanson made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Barnes was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Rick Allanson managed to get in a good position for a shot. AV4 United's supporters rose to their feet, but Rick Allanson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Barnes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Sunk Black Pearl's Mike McTire dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Douglas McPhater received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. David Barnes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rick Allanson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mike McTire made a kick off. If Mike McTire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, AV4 United's goal looked a bit too open when Mike McTire came free, but Drew Gowrie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Walter Hunter notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of AV4 United's Drew Gowrie. Drew Gowrie was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. AV4 United's Drew Gowrie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike McTire in the 73rd minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, AV4 United's Douglas McPhater sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that David Barnes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rick Allanson might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David Barnes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rick Allanson ran back to his position shaking his head. Douglas McPhater sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sunk Black Pearl's David Barnes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Sunk Black Pearl from getting a goal against them. 96 minutes into the match, Matthew McIock notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Sunk Black Pearl's David Barnes. David Barnes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Sunk Black Pearl fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. AV4 United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
