A collision led to Kirknewton getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Lloyd Edwards hit a great ball. Fraser McChlerich hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Barga FC's Rod Tawse couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 10th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Kirknewton. Kirknewton's Vincent Findlater played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rupert McCall in the 12th minute of play. The supporters of Kirknewton booed when Barga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Drew McKintosh didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Drew McKintosh fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barga FC's protests and gave Drew McKintosh a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Barga FC's Drew McKintosh got a free kick in the 20th minute. Rupert McCall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Kirknewton's Vincent Findlater got control of the ball when Neil Robb tried to sneak it across the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Barga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Max McPhorich came free, but Shane McFie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Malcolm Kinnieson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barga FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kirknewton the free kick. The supporters of Kirknewton booed when Barga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malcolm Kinnieson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kirknewton's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Rupert McCall 31 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. After 35 played minutes Kirknewton got a freekick which was hit by Dougal McBeolain. Rod Tawse was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 36th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Vincent Findlater showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rupert McCall in the 38th minute of the match. Neil Robbs short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Vincent Findlater to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Malcolm Kinnieson came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Barga FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Malcolm Kinnieson couldn't finish the play. Barga FC's Rupert McCall got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Neil Robb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Findlater having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Max McPhorich made the kick off in the second half. Henry Murphy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Shane McFie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Rupert McCall's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vincent Findlater was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kirknewton's goalkeeper Vincent Findlater, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rupert McCall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 73 played minutes Kirknewton got a freekick which was hit by Lloyd Edwards. 78 minutes into the game, Rupert McCall cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Vincent Findlater was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Drew McKintosh was shown his second yellow card after 82 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Barga FC's Drew McKintosh got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Henry Murphys short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Shane McFie to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 86 minutes into the match, Kirknewton's goal looked a bit too open when Neil Robb came free, but Vincent Findlater reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barga FC's Shane McFie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Max McPhorich in the 92nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Neil Robb in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vincent Findlater saved Kirknewton from getting behind. Malcolm Kinnieson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
