After a rather tough play, TUCCI Football Club's Edward McGilvernock got a free kick in the 8th minute. Max McDrain charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Max McDrain the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 18 minutes into the game, TUCCI Football Club's Brian McCririe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 30th minute, Davie Yuill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 33rd minute of the match, Innes McNuir got a very nice opportunity to score, but Les Arrol was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Lochgelly United's Iain McAskill got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Innes McNuir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Les Arrol having to interfere. When Innes McNuir came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Lochgelly United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Innes McNuir couldn't finish the play. Eddie Ashmore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian McCririe in the 44th minute of play. If Innes McNuir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brian McCririe to make the kick off. In the 87th minute, Iain McAskill left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lochgelly United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. If Troy McWhannell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Innes McNuir in the 96th minute of play forced TUCCI Football Club's goalkeeper Les Arrol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lochgelly United's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
