Greg Forstar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steven McJames having to interfere. When Callum McQuarrie fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tradition Ways AFC's protests and gave Callum McQuarrie a yellow card for diving instead. Callum McQuarrie hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Chris King fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steven McJames having to interfere. Tim McInroy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ross McSymon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Crazy Monks F.C.'s Ross McSymon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rupert Hallyard in the 23rd minute of play. Rupert Hallyard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Crazy Monks F.C.'s zone, Tim McInroy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ross McSymon came out of the goal and Tim McInroy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tim McInroy took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ross McSymon. Ross McSymon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Chris King received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Steven McJames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nick Caddell kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. When Rupert Hallyard came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Tradition Ways AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rupert Hallyard couldn't finish the play. Tim McInroy might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ross McSymon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tim McInroy ran back to his position shaking his head. 42 minutes into the match, Tradition Ways AFC's Tim McInroy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ross McSymon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rupert Hallyard blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ross McSymon having to make a save. The Crazy Monks F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tradition Ways AFC were winning 0-2.

Callum McQuarrie got his second yellow card in the match during the 53rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. If Derek Corbet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Crazy Monks F.C.'s Ross McSymon got control of the ball when Rupert Hallyard tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th minute, Greg Forstar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 70 minutes, Stevie McIntyre mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tradition Ways AFC and the Crazy Monks F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stevie McIntyre kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Derek Corbet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Steven McJames was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Steven McJames showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derek Corbet in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 81stth minute of the game Derek Corbet who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tradition Ways AFC's Steven McJames was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 88th minute, Fabian Bailey sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Crazy Monks F.C.'s Ross McSymon didn't even have to move. In the 95th minute Chris King shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steven McJames saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Steven McJames made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris King in the 96th minute of play. The Crazy Monks F.C. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Tradition Ways AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Tradition Ways AFC.
