Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Samuel McThomas got the match started through his kick off. After some careless play in the Ventnor defense, Samuel McThomas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fraser McSorley. The Ventnor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fraser McSorley should have stopped the shot. Finlay Caw could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Wayne Stalker made a huge save. Fraser McSorley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel McThomas in the 22nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Samuel McThomas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Larbert's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel McThomas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fraser McSorley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Samuel McThomas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Samuel McThomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fraser McSorley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel McThomas, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. The supporters of Ventnor booed when Larbert was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Troy McClymont didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Ventnor's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel McThomas came free, but Fraser McSorley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aidan Francis's late challenge caught a Larbert's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aidan Francis helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Larbert booed when Ventnor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aidan Francis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Samuel McThomas made a precise shot to the right of Fraser McSorley. Ventnor's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 43rd minute, Samuel McThomas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fraser McSorley was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Ventnor's Fraser McSorley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel McThomas in the 47th minute of play. Rory Gibson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fraser McSorley having to interfere. After the first half Larbert were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
With a little luck, Ventnor's Fraser McSorley got control of the ball when Samuel McThomas tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 61st match minute, Ventnor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ben Bontein to maneuver through the defense. Samuel McThomas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fraser McSorley having to interfere. Rory Gibson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fraser McSorley having to make a save. Fraser McSorley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddie Bontein in the 68th minute of the match. Fraser McSorley made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Samuel McThomas sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Ventnor getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Aidan Francis hit a great ball. Larbert were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Ventnor's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Steve McKail took the corner. After taking down the ball on Larbert's corner Steve McKail fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fraser McSorley quite easily take care of the ball. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ventnor's goalkeeper Fraser McSorley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rory Gibson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fraser McSorley having to interfere. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ventnor's goalkeeper Fraser McSorley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aidan Francis hit a great ball. When the final whistle sounded Larbert left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ventnor.
