Spectators: 6852 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1852, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Wal Cleland took the kick off in the first half of the match. Aaron Young took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alex Roberts. Alex Roberts dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some careless play in the Ardrossan defense, Ryan Sherry kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alex Roberts. The Ardrossan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Roberts should have stopped the shot. Ryan Sherry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ryan Sherry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 21st minute, Kenny Beadle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 22 played minutes, Ballygrant City's Phillip Lowson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alex Roberts came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ballygrant City reached it. When Aaron Young came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Ballygrant City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aaron Young couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the match, Aaron Young had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alex Roberts. Ardrossan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aaron Young was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Ardrossan's Steven McVarish shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 29th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Neil Cassels but with some difficulty. 34 minutes into the match, Ballygrant City's Ryan Sherry sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alex Roberts narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Jordan McCansh got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 40 minutes, Ryan Sherry managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballygrant City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ryan Sherry was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aaron Young received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Alex Roberts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47thth minute of the game Ryan Sherry who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ardrossan's Alex Roberts was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aaron Young made a kick off. Gavin Rose kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Ballygrant City's Neil Cassels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jordan McCansh in the 54th minute of play. Aaron Young's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alex Roberts read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Ryan Sherry recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd minute of the match, Ryan Sherry got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alex Roberts was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Steven McVarish kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Aaron Young spun around in front of the goal 64 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Ardrossan's goal. If Ryan Sherry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 67th minute, Kenny Beadle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryan Sherry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Alex Roberts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th match minute, Ardrossan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenny Beadle to maneuver through the defense. 82 minutes into the match, Aaron Young dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alex Roberts, 0-5. If Gavin Rose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 88 minutes, Steven McVarish mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ardrossan and the Ballygrant City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 87th minute of the game. One of Ardrossan:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ballygrant City:s goal. The supporters of Ballygrant City booed when Ardrossan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Roy didn't get a good kick on the ball.
