Spectators: 6836 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1836, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Wal Cleland started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Ardrossan's Evan Scott got a free kick in the 12th minute. Gregor McPhadden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Roberts having to interfere. If Alan McGhie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 17 minutes, Nicol McKinney mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ardrossan and the DVA players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Ardrossan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicol McKinney to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute Alan McGhie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Roberts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, one of Ardrossan:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ardrossan. Marcus McGillivour walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Alan McGhie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jordan McCansh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Sime having to interfere. After 34 played minutes DVA got a freekick which was hit by Vincent Barrie. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jordan McCansh in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adrian Sime prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 44 minutes DVA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Steven McVarish who took care of the corner kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gregor McPhadden to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Ardrossan's Wal Cleland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adrian Sime narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Jordan McCansh ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adrian Sime was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 58th match minute, Ardrossan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wal Cleland to maneuver through the defense. Adrian Sime showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wal Cleland, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Ter Low kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The supporters of Ardrossan booed when DVA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincent Barrie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adrian Sime took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jordan McCansh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gregor McPhadden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Alex Roberts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Wal Cleland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adrian Sime was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. 94 minutes into the match, Jordan McCansh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adrian Sime. DVA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jordan McCansh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Ardrossan's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
