Tighnabruaich's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Derek Lorne 6 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Johnny Kinnieson struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Charlie Burk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leith United. A collision led to Leith United getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Johnny McKinlay hit a great ball. Bruce Adams fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Burk having to interfere. In the 18th minute Ian McGugan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charlie Burk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Tighnabruaich's goal looked a bit too open when Bruce Adams came free, but Charlie Burk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruce Adams recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Charlie Burk was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Ian McGugan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ian McGugan really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Tighnabruaich's zone, Bruce Adams stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charlie Burk came out of the goal and Bruce Adams tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aiden McDaniell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willie McDulothe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruce Adams fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Burk having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Tighnabruaich's zone, Bruce Adams stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charlie Burk came out of the goal and Bruce Adams tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Johnny Kinnieson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Charlie Burk having to make a save. Charlie Burk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruce Adams in the 47th minute of the match. In the 48th match minute, Tighnabruaich was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael McLehose to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bruce Adams stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Johnny McKinlay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charlie Burk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bruce Adams had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Charlie Burk was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Bruce Adams came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Leith United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruce Adams couldn't finish the play. Bruce Adams sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 77 minutes, Johnny Kinnieson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leith United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnny Kinnieson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruce Adams in the 78th minute of play forced Tighnabruaich's goalkeeper Charlie Burk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruce Adams recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rdth minute of the game Bruce Adams who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tighnabruaich's Charlie Burk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Charlie Burk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnny Kinnieson, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Bruce Adams fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Burk having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Bruce Adams managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leith United's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruce Adams was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charlie Burk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd minute, Steve McCondy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Leith United's Bruce Adams in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tighnabruaich's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 96 minutes, Bruce Adams managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leith United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruce Adams was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Leith United fully deserved thier win.
