Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Nick McKenzie made the kick off which started today's match. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lochgelly City's goalkeeper Terence Watson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 14 minutes into the game, Johnny McKinlay recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Terence Watson. Johnny McKinlay showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 18th minute Bruce Adams shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Terence Watson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Terence Watson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian McGugan, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruce Adams in the 25th minute of play forced Lochgelly City's goalkeeper Terence Watson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Steve McCondy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Bruce Adams put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Terence Watson. Terence Watson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnny Kinnieson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Bruce Adams had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Terence Watson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruce Adams in the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bruce Adams to strike the kick off in the second half. Johnny Kinnieson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Terence Watson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute, one of Lochgelly City:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lochgelly City. In the 55th minute there was a penalty for Leith United. Derek Lorne stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Terence Watson. 5-0. 58 minutes into the match, Lochgelly City's goal looked a bit too open when Johnny Kinnieson came free, but Terence Watson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bruce Adams had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Steve McCondy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the game, Leith United's Johnny McKinlay nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Terence Watson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Lochgelly City's Terence Watson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruce Adams in the 80th minute of play. Paul Beattie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terence Watson having to interfere. Terence Watson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruce Adams, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Lochgelly City's Josh McGruder got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Terence Watson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruce Adams in the 85th minute of play. Terence Watson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruce Adams, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute, Bruce Adams left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leith United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Steve McCondy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terence Watson having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Leith United players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
