Spectators: 6963 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1963, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Steven McGrowther took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Steven McGrowther in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ross McNeil saved Tayport AFC from getting behind. In the 6th minute, Steven McGrowther got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Tayport AFC's zone, Steven McGrowther stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ross McNeil came out of the goal and Steven McGrowther tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Helensburgh FC fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Helensburgh FC's Steven McGrowther looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Steven McGrowther blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ross McNeil having to make a save. Steven McGrowther fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ross McNeil having to interfere. Steven McGrowther sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ross McNeil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Connor McIlzegowie, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Timmy Armour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steven McGrowther sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ross McNeil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miles McKinnell in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven McGrowther in the 36th minute of play forced Tayport AFC's goalkeeper Ross McNeil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Miles McKinnell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Steven McGrowther sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Timmy Armour came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Helensburgh FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timmy Armour couldn't finish the play. Miles McKinnell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ross McNeil having to interfere. After some careless play in the Tayport AFC defense, Steven McGrowther kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ross McNeil. The Tayport AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ross McNeil should have stopped the shot.

Rick Donleavy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Ross McNeil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steven McGrowther recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Timmy Armour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 61 minutes into the match, Ronald Alcock notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Tayport AFC's Ross McNeil. Ross McNeil was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 64th minute Steven McGrowther shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ross McNeil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Steven McGrowther sped through Tayport AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ross McNeil. Tayport AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Steven McGrowther scored to the left of an out of position Ross McNeil, making the score, 0-5. Ross McNeil had great luck who in the 73rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Steven McGrowther from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Helensburgh FC's Connor McIlzegowie got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Steven McGrowther in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ross McNeil saved Tayport AFC from getting behind. When Miles McKinnell fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Helensburgh FC's protests and gave Miles McKinnell a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th match minute, Helensburgh FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miles McKinnell to maneuver through the defense. When Billy Enrick came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Tayport AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Billy Enrick couldn't finish the play. In the 80th minute Eddie Johnston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lloyd McCamie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81 played minutes Tayport AFC got a freekick which was hit by Tom Allan. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Tayport AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Steven McGrowther was slow to take the kick. During this time Helensburgh FC's players had a chance to rest. After having played for 86 minutes, Steven McGrowther managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Helensburgh FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steven McGrowther was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Tayport AFC's Ross McNeil got control of the ball when Steven McGrowther tried to sneak it across the goal line. Steven McGrowther sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Connor McIlzegowie in the 92ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ross McNeil, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 95 minutes into the match, Helensburgh FC's Steven McGrowther sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ross McNeil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ronald Alcock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Helensburgh FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tayport AFC throughout the match.
