Ian McGugan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Martin Balfour tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Galston City players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Leith United were winning 0-7.

After having played for 52 minutes, Johnny McKinlay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leith United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnny McKinlay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bruce Adams took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martin Balfour. Martin Balfour dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. Bruce Adams received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Martin Balfour tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruce Adams fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Balfour having to interfere. After 65 played minutes Galston City got a freekick which was hit by Darren Airlie. Leith United's Bruce Adams got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Martin Balfour stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Johnny Kinnieson's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Martin Balfour was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Bruce Adams capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bruce Adams really showed his touch with that goal: 0-9. In the 73rd minute, Leith United's Bruce Adams dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-10. In the 77th minute, Bruce Adams fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Martin Balfour, passed just outside the right post. Johnny Kinnieson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Dallas kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After having played for 82 minutes, Bruce Adams managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Martin Balfour made an important save on a dangerous shot by Johnny Kinnieson in the 91st minute. After 92 played minutes Bruce Adams rounded Galston City's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-11. Leith United's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
