After a defensive mix-up in St.Mirren's zone, Dylan Blair stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walter Wylie came out of the goal and Dylan Blair tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matthew Wilkie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Matthew Wilkie made a precise shot to the right of Gus Appleton. Beith's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Lucas Carr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Walter Wylie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 78 minutes, Lucas Carr managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beith's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Carr was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 87 minutes of play, Beith's Lucas Carr made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Walter Wylie was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dylan Blair struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Walter Wylie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beith. The Beith manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing St.Mirren to win.
