Seating: 1958, VIP seats: 0) Dylan Constable made the kick off and thus started the match. If Edward McDaniell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 6th minute Dylan Constable shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roddie McSimon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roddie McSimon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dylan Constable, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Stewart Tarrill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hugh Crossley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Ballygrant's Roddie McSimon got control of the ball when Brian McCook tried to sneak it across the goal line. Stewart Tarrill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brian McCook could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Roddie McSimon made a huge save. In the 30th minute, Ullapool's Lucas McKee ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roddie McSimon. Roddie McSimon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brian McCook got free with Roddie McSimon in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alisdair Gardiner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roddie McSimon having to interfere. Hugh Crossley charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugh Crossley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hugh Crossley hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Stewart Tarrill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stewart Tarrill stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lucas McKee hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute Hugh Crossley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicky Malcolm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Craig Gorrie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Ullapool's Nicky Malcolm got control of the ball when Craig Gorrie tried to sneak it across the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Ballygrant's goal looked a bit too open when Alisdair Gardiner came free, but Roddie McSimon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stewart Tarrill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 70 minutes of play, Ballygrant's Hugh Crossley made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nicky Malcolm was left in no man's land by his defense there! Stewart Tarrill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ullapool's Nicky Malcolm proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Ullapool from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Ballygrant's Stewart Tarrill slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nicky Malcolm. That made the score 1-2 after 82 minutes of play. Stewart Tarrill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicky Malcolm having to interfere. Roddie McSimon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alisdair Gardiner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Ullapool fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ballygrant were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
