A collision led to St.Mirren getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Edward Begg hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, St.Mirren's goalkeeper Walter Wylie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alisdair Gardiner. Matthew Wilkie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, St.Mirren's Walter Wylie got control of the ball when Alisdair Gardiner tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 22 minutes, Lucas McKee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ullapool and the St.Mirren players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lucas McKee kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, St.Mirren's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas McKee came free, but Walter Wylie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 27 played minutes Ullapool got a freekick which was hit by Lucas McKee. In the 31st minute, St.Mirren's Stevie McAlonie seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Stevie McAlonie the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of St.Mirren protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Stevie McAlonie had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Kenny Burns kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Walter Wylie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ewan McElheran in the 35th minute. In the 40th minute, Matthew Wilkie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 45 minutes into the game, Alisdair Gardiner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Walter Wylie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matthew Wilkie to make the kick off. Matthew Wilkie came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nicky Malcolm could save by the left post. In the 57th minute Dylan Constable shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Wylie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Scott McMurdo hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Norman Boyle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicky Malcolm having to make a save. After a rather tough play, St.Mirren's Scott McMurdo got a free kick in the 69th minute. Matthew Wilkie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Nicky Malcolm made a huge save. Matthew Wilkie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicky Malcolm having to make a save. 93 minutes into the match, St.Mirren's goal looked a bit too open when Brian McCook came free, but Walter Wylie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Alisdair Gardiner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ullapool fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ullapool had played much better football throughout.
