Taylor McKerracher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Gus Appleton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The tension between the Beith and the Clydebank players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Beith's Dylan Blair got a free kick in the 16th minute. Gus Appleton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clydebank's goalkeeper Taylor Randolf, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Beith's Gus Appleton got control of the ball when Taylor McKerracher tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Taylor McKerracher got free with Gus Appleton in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Keith Fraser hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The referee showed Chris Raith the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
