Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Scott McNeiledge started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Graeme Carr in the 3rd minute of play forced Mallaig's goalkeeper David Stenhouse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stromness's Nicol Burnes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Stromness from getting a goal against them. Stromness's Rupert Nelson quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lloyd Lawrie, made in the 19th minute of the game. David Stenhouse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Graeme Carr in the 21st minute of the match. In the 23rd minute Graeme Carr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Stenhouse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mallaig's David Stenhouse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Graeme Carr in the 25th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Graeme Carr's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but David Stenhouse was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mallaig's goalkeeper David Stenhouse, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 36th minute, Alex McCunn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 41 minutes, Aidan Bunten mouthed his way into the referee's book. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Graeme Carr to make the kick off. In the 55th minute of the match Stromness got a corner. Mallaig's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Graeme Carr ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Mallaig booed when Stromness was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fergus Lecky didn't get a good kick on the ball. 58 minutes into the game, Graeme Carr cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. David Stenhouse was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Munro McCombie in the 64th minute of play forced Stromness's goalkeeper Nicol Burnes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicol Burnes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Munro McCombie, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Munro McCombie took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicol Burnes. Nicol Burnes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Ken McCrimmor fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stromness's protests and gave Ken McCrimmor a yellow card for diving instead. Ken McCrimmor hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 74 minutes into the match, Graeme Carr had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Stenhouse. Mallaig's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Graeme Carr was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. David Stenhouse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Graeme Carr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Graeme Carr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. David Stenhouse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fergus Lecky during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fergus Lecky hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Ken McCrimmor was shown his second yellow card after 87 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Mallaig booed when Stromness was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ken McCrimmor didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute, Fergus Lecky got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fergus Lecky kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The Mallaig fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Stromness were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
