Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dougal McKellaig got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes in the game, Dylan Blair dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 4 minutes into the match, Beith's goal looked a bit too open when Dougal McKellaig came free, but Gus Appleton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. James McBean charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed James McBean the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 13 played minutes Newcastleton got a freekick which was hit by James McBean. A hard shot 16 in the game by Lucas Carr from a close distance when the talented John McIlduy managed to make a qualified save. Newcastleton's players were relieved. 18 minutes into the game, Oliver Adams was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newcastleton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Beith the free kick. The supporters of Beith booed when Newcastleton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Adams didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Newcastleton's zone, Dylan Blair stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John McIlduy came out of the goal and Dylan Blair tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 23 played minutes Newcastleton got a freekick which was hit by Raymond Elliott. 26 minutes into the match, Newcastleton's goalkeeper John McIlduy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dylan Blair. Dylan Blair struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. John McIlduy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beith. John McIlduy was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Lucas Carr capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lucas Carr really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. If Dylan Blair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Newcastleton's goalkeeper John McIlduy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Scott McIock. Beith's Gus Appleton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by James McBean in the 42nd minute of play. After 43 minutes, Scott McIock mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Beith and the Newcastleton players grew even worse after the yellow card. Scott McIock kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dylan Blair to make the kick off. John McIlduy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Carr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Newcastleton's Oliver Adams got a free kick in the 64th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dougal McKellaig got free with Gus Appleton in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, Newcastleton's goal looked a bit too open when Dylan Blair came free, but John McIlduy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Dougal McKellaig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newcastleton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dylan Blair in the 82nd minute of play forced Newcastleton's goalkeeper John McIlduy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dylan Blair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Lucas Carr managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beith's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Carr was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. John McIlduy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Newcastleton's James McBean got a free kick in the 90th minute. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by Beith's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Raymond Elliott was slow to take the kick. During this time Newcastleton's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Raymond Elliott got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gus Appleton quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
