In the 3rd minute Taylor McKerracher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Fostar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stonehaven United's Richard Fostar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Raith in the 5th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Taylor McKerracher made a precise shot to the right of Richard Fostar. Stonehaven United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Chris Raith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Fostar having to interfere. If Taylor McKerracher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Clydebank's Taylor Randolf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan McNiter in the 21st minute of play. Alan McNiter scored 1-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Taylor Randolf, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Taylor McKerracher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clydebank's supporters rose to their feet, but Taylor McKerracher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Fostar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chris Raith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Fostar having to interfere. In the 36th minute Taylor McKerracher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Fostar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the game, Ricky Lobban was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stonehaven United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clydebank the free kick. In the 41st minute, Rupert Cox hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clydebank's Keith Fraser got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Richard Fostar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Taylor McKerracher's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Clydebank's Taylor McKerracher sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Richard Fostar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alan McNiter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Taylor McKerracher came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Clydebank fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Taylor McKerracher couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Clydebank booed when Stonehaven United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marc McNuir didn't get a good kick on the ball. Richard Fostar acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 56th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Keith Fraser. Richard Fostar had great luck who in the 59thth minute grab hold of the ball when Chris Raith from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 60th minute Clydebank were awarded a corner. Keith Fraser went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Clydebank's corner Keith Fraser fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Richard Fostar quite easily take care of the ball. Richard Fostar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Raith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the match, Clydebank's goal looked a bit too open when Alan McNiter came free, but Taylor Randolf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Stonehaven United's zone, Taylor McKerracher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richard Fostar came out of the goal and Taylor McKerracher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 72nd minute by Chris Raith got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 74 minutes into the game, Taylor McKerracher cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Richard Fostar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Clydebank's Chris Raith got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Calum Addison was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 89 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Clydebank:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Stonehaven United:s goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Taylor McKerracher got free with Richard Fostar in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Stonehaven United players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
